Three brothers and four sisters also survive: Simon, Joseph and John, and Mrs. Jacob Engelhart, Mrs. Andrew Hertel and the Misses Maggie and Celia Molzahn of this section. The funeral will take place at Council Bluffs on Monday and will be attended by relatives from this city.

Harry A. Kellermans to Observe 60th Anniversary

Mr. an Mrs. Harry A. Kellerman 200 1/2 North Third Street, well known Watertown residents, will makr their 60th wedding anniversary on Monday, Sept. 3.
     A mas in their honor will be said in the morning at their home by the Very Rev. Anthony J. Herrman, pastor of St. Henry's Catholic Church. Permission to have the mass in the home was granted due to the fact that Mr. Kellerman's health will not permit him to attend the service in the church. The mass will be attended by members of the family only.
     There will be an open house in the afternoon from 2 to 5 o'clock. No invitations are being issued. All relatives and friends are invited.
     Mr. Kellerman and the former Anna molzahn of Watertown were united in marriage on Sept. 3, 1902 in St. Henry's Catholic Church. Officiating was the late REv. Joseph La Boule. Only one of the attendants at the wedding is still living. She is Mrs. Clem Stacey of Chicago.
     Mr. and Mrs. Kellerman lived in Juneau and Marinete before moving to Watertown 65 years ago. He is a retired Watertown businessman. Mrs. Kellerman is a lifelong resident of Watertown. He is 89, while she is 84.
     The Kellermans are the parents of two sons, Frank and Edgar, both of Watertown, and one daughter, Mrs. George Chesemore, Madison. They have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.17

Very Rev. Anthony J. Hermann, pastor of St. Henry's parish, presented Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Kellerman, members of the parish, with and apostolic blessing from Pope John XIII on their 60th wedding anniversary, which they observed recently. Mrs. Frank Kellerman, a daughter-in-law, is in the background.
Father Hermann also said mass in their home because Mr. Kellerman's health would not permit him to go to church. Mr. Kellerman and the former Anna Molzahn of Watertown were married Sept. 3, 1902, by the late Fr. Joseph La Boule at St. Henry's. They have lived in their home at 200 1/2 N. 3rd st. since their marriage.
The Kellermans have two sons, Frank and Edgar of Watertown and a daughter, Mrs. George Chesemore of Madison, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.2

     Mrs.. Kellerman To Celebrate 90th Birthday
     Mrs. Harry Kellerman, 2001/2 North Third Street, will celebrate the occasion of her 90th birthday with an open house at her home on Sunday, June 30, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited.
     Mrs. Kellerman is a lifelong resident of Watertown. She was born July 1, 1878, as Anna Molzahn, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Molzahn.
     Mrs. Kellerman is enjoying good health and is fairly active. She is making good progress after being hospitalized for several months at Watertown Memorial Hospital following injuries suffered in a fall last December.
     Before entering the hospital, Mrs. Kellerman was a daily attendant at mass at St. Henry's Catholic Church.
     She has three children, a daughter, Mrs. George Cheesemore, Madison, and two sons, Edgar Kellerman and Frank Kellerman, both of Watertown. She has seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.8

Anna Molzahn lived at Watertown Skilled Care Center on 10 April 1971 in Watertown.8

     WATERTOWN - Mrs. Henry Kellerman celebrated her 97th birthday recently with a Mass in the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Kellerman, route 4, Watertown.
     Officiating at the Mass were Frs. Raymond Dunn and Michael Burke of St. Henry parish and Rev. Curt Alvarez, a deacon working at the parish.
     Mrs. Kellerman is still an avid reader and in good health. Until recently she attended daily Mass at St. Henry church. She now resides at the Watertown Skilled Care center.
     Her other two children are Mrs. George Cheesemore, Monona, and Frank, Watertown. She has seven grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Harry, died in 1963.8

     Mrs. Anna Kellerman
     Mrs. Anna Kellerman, 97, of 200 1/2 North Third Street, widow of Harry Kellerman, passed away Saturday evening at the Watertown Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
     Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Schmutzler Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church with Father Michael Burke officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
     Friends and relatives may call to pay their respects at the funeral home from 3 to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday until the time of the service. The Christian Mothers and parish rosary will be said this evening at 8 o'clock.
     The former Anna Molzahn was born in Watertown July 1, 1878, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simon Molzahn. She was a lifetime resident of Watertown and on Sept. 3, 1902 married Harry Kellerman. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1962. He died Nov. 26, 1963.
     Mrs. Kellerman was a member of St. Henry's Catholic church, the Christian Mothers Society of the church, the Catholic Woman's Club and the Watertown Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
     Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. George (Leona) Chesemore of Madison, two sons, Edgar, route 4, Watertown, and Frank of Watertown, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.2

Anna Molzahn was buried at St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery on 17 February 1976 at Watertown.2

     Miss Cecilia Molzahn Dies; Funeral Rites on Tuesday; Retired Milliner Passes Away at Hospital Saturday
     Miss Cecilia Molzahn, 86, a lifelong resident of Watertown and for many years one of its best known business women, died Saturday afternoon in St. Mary's Hospital. Death was due to general infirmities. Death came peacefully in her sleep at 2:30 o'clock. Her home was at 208 South Seventh Street.
     The funeral will take place Tuesday morning from the Schmutzler Funeral Home at 9 o'clock with services in St. Henry's Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. The Very Rev. A. J. Herrmann, V. F., will officiate and interment will be in St. Henry's Cemetery.
     Miss Molzahn was born here May 4, 1873, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Molzahn. She lived in Watertown her entire life.
     Miss Molzahn was the last member of her immediate family.
     She was a member of St. Henry's Church, the Catholic Woman's Club, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, and St. Joseph's Home Auxiliary.
     She was a devout Catholic. Her many friends throughout the community held her in high regard.
     Miss Molzahn retired some years ago as a milliner. For many years she had operated the Molzahn and Hertel Millinery Shop at No. 7 Main Street, first in company with Miss Margaret Hertel and later alone.
     Friends may pay their respects at the Schmutzler Funeral Home this evening and also Tuesday before the funeral. The rosary will be said at 8 o'clock this evening.4

Celebrates His First Holy Mass: Rev. Edw. A. Hertel Conducts Service: St. Henry's Church Packed With Guests and Friends Tuesday Morning.
     The Reverend Edward A. Hertel celebrated his first holy mass Tuesday morning at St. Henry's church. The church was packed with guests and friends.
     At ten o'clock the procession from the parsonage took place. The school children took part in the procession and the Knights of Columbus attended in a body. The service was a solemn high mass. The Rev. Hertel was assisted by the Rev. John Kreig , deacon; the Rev. James Kelly, sub-deacon, the Rev. Dr. Joseph La Boule, presbyter assistant, Gerald Fiesst, and Fred Kreuziger, master of ceremony, and Herbert Littel, thurifier.
     The students choir of St. Francis' Seminary sang the responses.
     According to a custom in the church symbolizing the union of the young priest with church Miss Dorothy Molzahn acted as bride. Miss Helen Molzahn was the flower girl and Master Frank Kellerman flower boy.
     Among the visiting priests were the Revs. Hugo Koester, Pardeeville, A. Salick, Milwaukee, P. Theisen, Milwaukee, Bernard Felsecker, Milwaukee, John Grasser, Milwaukee, August Gearhard, Milwaukee, Felix Sipple, Milwaukee, J. Salentine, Sun Prairie, M. Norton, Ripon, George Eilers, St. Francis, M. McEvoy, St. Francis, B. Salvrecter, St. Francis, E. Kersting, Reeseville, G. Hegeman, Madison, J. Higgins, Milwaukee, Louis Zerbes, Hartland, John Koelzer, Sheboygan, Joseph Braskey, Bristol.
     The services were very impressive. The sermon was preached by the Rev. P. Schweitzer of Bristol. Immediately after the mass, Benediction took place in lieu of evening services.
     A reception and dinner were held mother, Mrs. Andrew Hertel, 610 Sixth Street, shortly after the services.
     The Rev. Hertel was ordained at St. Francis Seminary last Sunday. He had been a student at the seminary for the last eleven years. He has not been assigned to a parish and will probably remain at home for a few weeks before taking up active duties.
     During a number of vacations he clerked at Hertel and Hoffman's Clothing Store in which his father was a partner.3,4

Miss Molzahn and C. Coogan Married Here This Morning
     Miss Dorothy Molzahn, daughter of Joseph Molzahn, 509 North Washington street, and Christopher Coogan, Superior, son of Mrs. Ella Coogan, 209 Warren street, were united in marriage this morning at St. Henry's Church, with the Rev. Edward Hertel, cousin of the bride, preforming the ceremony.
     The bride was given away in marriage by her father. She was attended by her sister, Miss Irene Molzahn. The groom was attended by his brother, Matthew, Milwaukee. Francis Coogan, Superior, brother of the groom, and Edward Kellerman, cousin of the bride, ushered. A breakfast followed at the Green Bowl, and this afternoon a reception was held at the bride's home. Both are graduates of the Watertown High school. The groom is employed at Superior. The bride had been the secretary at the law office of Skinner & Thauer.5

Dorothy Catherine Molzahn married Christopher Coogan, son of Christopher Coogan and Ella Burke, on 22 May 1943 at St. Henry's Church, Watertown. The marriage was witnessed by Irene Rose Molzahn, Edgar Joseph Kellerman, Edward Hertel, Matthew J Coogan and Peter Francis Coogan.1,6,7

Andrew Hertel's Widow Dies Here At Family Home
     Mrs. Andrew Hertel, widow of one of Watertown's widely known business leaders and many years a clothing merchant, died this noon at her home, 610 South Sixth street. Her death came peacefully and following an illness of several weeks. Members of her family were with her when she died.
     Mrs. Hertel was the former Eleanora Molzahn, member of one of this community's best known families. She was born here January 15, 1861 and lived here all her life. Mr. Hertel, who was a member of the firm Hertel and Hoffmann, died 21 years ago.
     Surviving her are five daughters and five sons, the Misses Stella, Margaret and Helen, at home; Mrs. C. F. Millmann, Milwaukee; Mrs. S. H. Slaymaker, Beloit; Hugo, Albert and John, Chicago; the Rev. Edward Hertel, Waterford; and Andrew, Wauwatosa. There are 11 grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, the Misses Margaret and Celia Molzahn, this city; Joseph, Watertown; and John, of Merrill.
     Mrs. Hertel was a member of St. Henry's Catholic church and of the Catholic Women's club. With her death there passes a woman who spent a lifetime in the service of her family and whose friends in the community were many.
     The funeral will be held from the family home Tuesday morning with services in St. Henry's church at 10 o'clock. The Rev. Father Hertel will officiate at the requiem mass. Burial will be in St. Henry's cemetery. The Boyle Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.4

She was a former member of the American Association of University Women.
     Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Irene) Thauer and Mrs. Christie (Dorothy) Coogan, both of Watertown; one brother, G.P. of Watertown; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives and friends.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Helen McGinty, and one brother, Fred.7

     Frank C. Kellerman, seaman, second class, writes us from Shoemaker, Calif., that the other day while he was in San Francisco he ran across Hans Ott who is in the merchant marine and that he enjoyed a nice visit with him. Hans is a son of Dr. John H. Ott, retired faculty member of Northwestern College here. Frank has also visited several times at the home of Fred Molzahn, formerly of Watertown, who is living in Albany, Calif., just outside Oakland. Fred is associated with the Langendorf Baking Co., the largest west coast baking concern and has been with that company many years. Frank says he talked a lot about his old days in Watertown and when he used to play with various baseball teams here. Fred asked to be remembered to all his old friends here. Another fellow from these parts Frank sees almost daily is Herbert Blaessel, formerly associated with the Jefferson Banner, and one time bakery shop operator here. Frank writes that he is now about recovered from his recent attack of rheumatic fever which confined him to a hospital for 15 days. He has been visiting and seeing as many california cities and towns and places of interest as possible. He sends greetings to all his friends here.5

     Fred J. Molzahn, 78, Rancho Cordova, Calif., passed away Saturday night.
     Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Schmutzler Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church with Father Michael Burke officiating. Burial will be in St. Henry's Cemetery.
     Friends and relatives may call to pay their respects on Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. and until the time of service on Friday at the Schmutzler Funeral Home. A parish rosary will be Thursday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
     Molzahn was born Oct. 20, 1898, in Watertown, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Molzahn. He has lived for the past 50 years in California. Molzahn was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church.
     Surviving are his wide, Dorothy, one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Linton of California, two sons James and Walter, both of California, four grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Irene) Thauer, Mrs. Christie (Dorothy) Coogan, and Miss Florence Molzahn, all of Watertown, one brother, Gerald of Milwaukee, and other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
     Preceding him in death were his parents, one son and one sister.3

Funeral services were held on 29 October 1976 at St. Henry's Catholic Church and Cemetery, Watertown.3

Celebrates His First Holy Mass: Rev. Edw. A. Hertel Conducts Service: St. Henry's Church Packed With Guests and Friends Tuesday Morning.
     The Reverend Edward A. Hertel celebrated his first holy mass Tuesday morning at St. Henry's church. The church was packed with guests and friends.
     At ten o'clock the procession from the parsonage took place. The school children took part in the procession and the Knights of Columbus attended in a body. The service was a solemn high mass. The Rev. Hertel was assisted by the Rev. John Kreig , deacon; the Rev. James Kelly, sub-deacon, the Rev. Dr. Joseph La Boule, presbyter assistant, Gerald Fiesst, and Fred Kreuziger, master of ceremony, and Herbert Littel, thurifier.
     The students choir of St. Francis' Seminary sang the responses.
     According to a custom in the church symbolizing the union of the young priest with church Miss Dorothy Molzahn acted as bride. Miss Helen Molzahn was the flower girl and Master Frank Kellerman flower boy.
     Among the visiting priests were the Revs. Hugo Koester, Pardeeville, A. Salick, Milwaukee, P. Theisen, Milwaukee, Bernard Felsecker, Milwaukee, John Grasser, Milwaukee, August Gearhard, Milwaukee, Felix Sipple, Milwaukee, J. Salentine, Sun Prairie, M. Norton, Ripon, George Eilers, St. Francis, M. McEvoy, St. Francis, B. Salvrecter, St. Francis, E. Kersting, Reeseville, G. Hegeman, Madison, J. Higgins, Milwaukee, Louis Zerbes, Hartland, John Koelzer, Sheboygan, Joseph Braskey, Bristol.
     The services were very impressive. The sermon was preached by the Rev. P. Schweitzer of Bristol. Immediately after the mass, Benediction took place in lieu of evening services.
     A reception and dinner were held mother, Mrs. Andrew Hertel, 610 Sixth Street, shortly after the services.
     The Rev. Hertel was ordained at St. Francis Seminary last Sunday. He had been a student at the seminary for the last eleven years. He has not been assigned to a parish and will probably remain at home for a few weeks before taking up active duties.
     During a number of vacations he clerked at Hertel and Hoffman's Clothing Store in which his father was a partner.4,5

     Services for Former Resident To Be Tuesday
     FORT ATKINSON - Miss William McGinty, 59, of 1010 Elsie Street, a resident of Fort Atkinson for the past 20 years, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital after a month's illness.
     Mrs. McGinty, the former Helen Molzahn, was born in Watertown on Feb. 11, 1907, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.. Joseph Molzahn. She was a graduate of Watertown High School and Miss Brown's Business College in Milwaukee.
     Her marriage to William McGinty of Ishpeming, Mich., took place in St. Henry's Catholic Church, Watertown, Aug. 31, 1940.
     Mrs. McGinty was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Ann's Society, the Cabrini Club, Fort Atkinson Hospital Auxiliary, and the Fort Atkinson Women's club.
     Surviving are her husband; two sons, Patrick and Michael, and one daughter, Eileen, at home; two brothers, Fred, Sacramento, Calif., and Gerald, Wauwatosa; three sisters, Miss Florence Molzahn, Mrs. Richard Thauer and Mrs. Christie Coogan, Watertown.
     The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Nitardy-Schoenfeld Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. The Rev. E.J. Van Handel will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
     Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home starting at 4 p.m. today. The rosary will be said this evening at 7:30.
     The Dunlap Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.7
