The following announcement appeared in the Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter on 21 July 1939:
Miss Mary Dana Becomes Bride Of Raymond Ricklefs; Ceremony Is Read in St. Mary's Rectory by Former City Clergyman
"Midafternoon nuptial rites were celebrated in the rectory of St. Mary's church Thursday when Miss Mary Eleanor Dana, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo F. Dana, 85 East Johnson street, became Mrs. Raymond H. Ricklefs, the ceremony performed at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. Mathias E. Zerfas, formerly assistant paster at St. Mary's. Mr. Ricklefs is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Ricklefs, 450 South Park avenue.
Attending the couple were Mrs. Frank Kellerman of Watertown, sister of the bride, as matron of honor, and Robert E. Ricklefs, brother of the groom, as best man.
The bride, in a gown of white silk net, wore a fillet of white rosebuds in her hair, held white roses and swansonia in a colonial bouquet and carried a handmade lace handkerchief that had been part of her mother's bridal ensemble. Adorning the very full skirt of her gown were diagonal ruffles of Valenciennes lace, and its simply fitted, long-sleeved bodice was clasped with an antique shell cameo brooch which her grandmother, Mrs. W. F. Weber, had worn at her wedding.
Mrs. Kellerman, her aqua silk net gown trimmed with bands of matching shirred taffeta in bolero effect, carried yellow roses, daisies and swansonia, and wore a half-circlet of yellow rosebuds in her hair.
Cornflower blue sheer made up the frock worn by Mrs. Dana, the bride's mother, a large white felt hat, and a large corsage of white blossoms completing the costume. The groom's mother was attired in black net trimmed with white organdie, augmented by a white corsage.
Friends and relatives assembled for a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fond du Lac Golf Club. Mr. and Mrs. Ricklefs left soon afterward on a wedding trip in northern Wisconsin, the bride in a raspberry linen suit worn with white accessories. They will be at home after Aug. 15 at 237 Ledgeview avenue. Mrs. Ricklefs has been a member of the faculty in the English department at Roosevelt Junior High school. Her husband is on the sales staff of the Liggett and Myers Tobacco company.
Wedding guests from out of the city included Dr. Robert L. Dana of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Weber, Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Schaefer, Miss Josephine Schaefer, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Tooley, Mrs. Leona Downs, and Mrs. Arthur C. Dana, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. F.C.
