On Sunday and Monday there was a reunion of the Molzahn family at the home of Mrs. Albert Molzahn, the old homestead of the family southwest of this city on the West road, those present at the reunion being eight children--- Albert Molzahn, of Council Bluffs Iowa; John Molzahn, of Merril, Wis; Simon Molzahn, Watertown; Joseph Molzahn, town of Watertown; Mrs. Jacob Engelhardt, Hubbleton; Mrs. Andrew Hertel and the Misses Margaret and Celia Molzahn, of Watertown; Joseph Engelhardt, of Milwaukee and Michael Molzahn, of St. Paul were also present, and other relatives and immediate friends. The occasion was a most happy one, and was the first reunion of the family is one of thge oldest and most esteemed families in this section of Wisconsin, and all our people took great intrest in this notable gathering.     
The meeting was especially gratifying to Mrs. Molzahn, who was decidedly happy surrounded by her eight children, thirty-five grand children and one great grandchild. The family are to be congratulated on this happy occasion and all our people trust that they will live many years to enjoy a frequent reunion.

Happy Reunion of Eight Children With Their Mother--Offspring Number Twenty-Five Grandchildren and One Great-grandchild


     There was a happy reunion of the Molzahn family yesterday and today at the home of the mother on the old homestead in the West road southwest of Watertown. It was the first reunion of the children of Mrs. Albert Molzahn in many years and the evemt was made the occasion for a gathering of members of the family at the place so dear to childhood days. Present at the gathering were eight children: Albert Molzahn, Council Bluffs, Ia; John Molzahn, Merrill, Wis; Simon Molzahn, Joseph Molzahn, Watertown; Mrs. Jacob Engelhardt, Hubbleton; Mrs. Andrew Hertel, the Misses Margaret and Celia Molzahn, Watertown. Joseph Engelhardt of Milwaukee and Michael Molzahn of St. Paul were also present. Immediate relatives and neighbors only were present. Besides her eight children Mrs. Molzahn is grandmother of twenty-five children and great-grandmother of one child. The Molzahn family settled in this section of Watertown at an early day and is one of the most respected and esteemed in this section of Wisconsin. The occasion proved a most pleasant one for all of the sons and daughters and particularily for the mother who in the evening of her life could see the glad and smiling faces of her children as well as the grandchildren and great-grandchild. It was one of those happy reunions which leave a lasting impression upon all who so fortunate as to come within its sphere.12 She lived at 208 Seventh before 22 August 1916 in Watertown, Jefferson County, Wisconsin.3

Pioneer Resident Called by Death; Mrs. Marziana Molzahn Succumbs This Morning; Settled Near Here in 1854; Funeral Will Be Held on Thursday Morning--Death of Mrs. Thomas Prendergast in Madison on Monday
     Another resident of Watertown, who settled in this section in an earlyday, passed to a well merited reward when Mrs. Marziana Molzahn answered the final summons in her late home 208 Seventh street, this morning. She had been sick about ten days, suffering from the infirmities of old age, and her death was not expected.
Mrs. Molzahn was the widow of Mr. Albert Molzahn, who died thirty years ago. She was born in West Prussia, March 25, 1828, and after her marriage in her native land, came with her husband to this country in 1854, settling on farms in the town of Watertown and Emmet. The family for many years proceeding their removal to this city, resided in the West road. She was the mother of twelve children, four of whom died in infancy. Surviving her are the following children: Mrs. Jacob Englehardt, Mrs. Andrew Hertel, Margaret and Celia Molzahn, Watertown; John Molzahn, Merrill. Twenty-six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.
     Mrs. Molzahn was a woman greatly respected and esteemed in the community in which she passed so many years, and although she has lived long past the allotted three score and ten, she will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She was a member of St. Ann's Sodality of St. Henry's church.
     The funeral will take place on Thursday morning with services in St. Henry's church at 10 o'clock.14 She died on 22 August 1916 as indicated on prayer card.4

She had been sick for about ten days and her death was hourly expected. General debility was the cause of her death. Her husband, Albert Molzahn, died about 30 years ago. She was born in West Prussia, March 25, 1828, was married in that country and came to this country with her husband in 1854. They settled on a farm in the town of Watertown, residing for many years previous to the family's removal to Watertown on a farm in the West road. She was the mother of twelve children, four of whom died in infancy.
