Eleanor died unexpectedly of a sever stroke at the age of 81 on March 4, 2002 at her home in San Rafael. She was born in Cameron, Missouri on this day, July 30, in 1920 and her family moved to California when she was two years old. Eleanor grew up in Pasadena, married her high school sweetheart, William Kaelin, in 1942. They were married 54 years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1996 at the age of 75. Eleanor moved to San Rafael in 1999 and lived at the Rotary Valley Senior Village until her death.
Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister and friend to all. She is survived by her children, Annabel Kellerman and William, four grandchildren (John Kellerman, Jennifer Onish, Aaron and Mark Kaelin), and two great-grandchildren (Drew Kellerman and Dina Onish), and her sister Dorothy Russel.
A private family memorial was held and her ashes inurned at Riverside National Cemetery.
She will always be in our hearts.

     Miss Agnes E. Dana, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Dana, county pioneers who came to Fond du Lac in 1845 from Buffalo, N.Y., died Thursday at St. Agnes hospital following several months illness.
     Born March 14, 1868, in Fond du Lac, she spent her entire life in this city with the exception of 15 years prior to 1945 when she resided at Asbury Park, N.J. with her sister, Miss Mary Dana, who died several years ago.
     Miss Dana was a member of St. Mary's Court 945, W. C. O. F. and of the Altar society of St. Mary's church.
     Services will be held from Zacherl funeral home to St. Mary's church where rites will be conducted Saturday at 9 a.m. Burial will be in the family plot at Calvary cemetery.2

The Company was formed 20 Dec 1919, with the purpose of selling insurance policies and fidelity and surety bonds. The officers were Alex G. Dana of 25 E. Cotton; Geo. P. Dana, 76 E. Johnson; and Leo F. Dana, 85 E. Johnson. Paul J. Dana, no address given, was an officer from 1924 to 1934. The company after raising the amount of stock they carried several times became bankrupt about 1934.10

     Alex G. Dana, 80, founder of the Dana Insurance agency, a lifelong resident of Fond du Lac and for many years a civic leader in the community, died this morning at the Hotel Calumet where he had been residing for several years.
     Son of George P. and Phoebe Lanners Dana, Alex Dana was born Feb. 16, 1875. He attended St. Mary parochial school and the High school. After leaving High school he clerked in the office of the former Winnebago Furniture Manufacturing company. From 1896 to 1897 he was deputy register of deeds under the late P.G. Van Blarcom and after that period in the courthouse, entered the insurance business, purchasing an agency that had been operated by Otto Muenter.
Talented Musician
     A talented musician and organist for many years, Mr. Dana was one of the organizers in 1900 of the Harmonia Singing society, with Mrs. A. C. Blankenburg, who was one of the leading sopranos in the Fox River valley.
     In 1896, Mr. Dana was engaged by the late Rev. M. J. Taugher, pastor of St. Joseph's Church, as its choir master and organist, which position he filled continuously for one half century, retiring from choir work in September, 1946.
     With such prominent citizens as the late T. E. Ahern, S. D. Wyatt, W. H. Rueping, H. F. Wetter, F. W. Chadbourne, and other golf enthusiasts, he founded the Fond du Lac Town and Country Club. Active in other fraternal and civic organizations, Mr. Dana was a past exalted ruler of the Elks and a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He held honorary life memberships in both orders.
Firm's Founder
     Mr. Dana founded the Dana Insurance Agency in 1898 and later was joined in the business by his brother, the late Leo F. Dana, who died in 1940. Since the death of Leo Dana the agency has been under the management of Edward Dana, son of Leo.
Mr. Dana was married in 1919 to Clara Hegenbart of Oshkosh, who died in 1933. His only immediate survivor is a sister, Mrs. Leona Downs of Milwaukee, widow of Thomas C. Downs, an early Fond du Lac lawyer.
The body of Mr. Dana will be in state at the Geo. M. Dugan Funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held there Friday at 8:45 a.m. and at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph's church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.2

Mrs. Mahoney Becomes Bride of Dr. A. C. Dana; Well Known Young Woman United in Marriage to Prominent Physician. Breakfast at Elks' Club
     At the altar of St. Joseph's church this morning was read the beautiful marriage ritual of the Roman Catholic religion uniting Miss Marguerite C. Mahoney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Mahoney, and Dr. Arthur C. Dana, son of George P. Dana, in the sacred bonds of matrimony.
     The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. J. Collins, pastor of the church, at a nuptial mass attended by a large assemblage of friends and relatives of the couple.
     At the hour of 8:30 o'clock to the beautiful strains of Lohengrin's wedding march played by Miss Virgilia Fox, the bridal party composed of Frank D. Mahoney, a brother of the bride and Joe Harrington as ushers, the groom attended by his brother, Alex G. Dana, and the bride accompanied by her sister, Miss Agnes Mahoney, entered the church and proceeded to the altar.
 During the offertory of the mass, Mrs. T. S. Arthur gave a beautiful rendition of Schubert's "Ave Maria."
Marked by Simplicity
     Marked with simplicity and beauty the wedding party presented a very pretty sight as it proceeded down the spacious aisle of St. Joseph's church.
     The bride was beautifully attired in a simple gown of white georgette crepe with a picture hat to match and carried a shower bouquet of roses and sweet peas. Her bridesmaid wore a pretty tricolette dress and a pink moire ribbon hat. She carried a hand bouquet of pink sweet peas.
     After the ceremony a breakfast was served at the Elk's club house for members of the immediate families of the bride and groom, covers being laid for about thirty guests.
     Following the breakfast Dr. and Mrs. Dana left on a motor trip to Minneapolis and other points of interest. They expect to be absent from the city for about ten days and upon their return will reside in an attractive new home which the groom recently erected at 46 Champion avenue, where they will be at home after October 1.
     Miss Margaret Mahoney of Milwaukee and Frank Mahoney of Birmingham, Alabama, an aunt and brother of the bride were present at the ceremony.
Prominent Young Couple
     The bride and groom of this morning are two of Fond du Lac's most prominent young people and carry with them in their new life sincere felicitations and best wishes of legions of friends and acquaintances.
     The bride is a dramatic reader of no little ability, and her work is well known throughout the state. She graduated from the local high school with the class of 1912 and following her graduation pursued an extensive course in elocution under prominent instructors in Milwaukee and Chicago. Miss Mahoney's appearances on the platform have been numerous. For many months she was prominent in lyceum work.
     The groom is one of the most prominent physicians in the city. He was graduated from Marquette university, Milwaukee, and, after completing his course in medicine at that institution, served an internship at St. Joseph's hospital at St. Paul.
     After completing his work at the latter place he came to this city and engaged in the practice of his profession. He enjoys one of the largest practices in the city.20
He witnessed the stillbirth of George John Krebs Jr.21

Dr. Arthur Dana Expires After Long Sickness; Former City Physician, War Veteran, Member of Pioneer Family, Dies
     Dr. Arthur C. Dana, 49, former city physician, who for many years was engaged in the practice of medicine in this city, died at 7:15 a.m. today at St. Agnes hospital after an extended illness. He had been in ill health for eight years.
     Born July 11, 1886, in this city, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George P. Dana, pioneer residents of the community, he received his elementary education in Fond du Lac and later entered medical school, graduating from Marquette university, Milwaukee, in 1911. After serving a year internship at St. Joseph's hospital in St. Paul, Minn., he returned to this city to engage in the practice of his profession. He was appointed city physician in 1921.
     When the World War was declared Dr. Dana enlisted in the medical corps and was the second physician in the city to be called into service. With a commission of lieutenant he left here in 1917 for Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, and later served at camp Grant in Illinois. After spending several months in New York Dr. Dana returned to this city to resume his practice which he continued until ill health intervened.
     On Aug. 28, 1919, at St. Joseph's church in this city, Dr. Dana was united in marriage to Miss Marguerite Mahoney, Fond du Lac. The couple resided for many years at 46 Champion avenue. Surviving are his widow, five brothers, Alex G., Paul J., George A. and Leo F. Dana of this city and Victor of Kenosha and a sister, Mrs. T.C. Downs of this city.
Prior to his illness, Dr. Dana was active in fraternal and medical organizations. He was a member of the Elks, the Knights of Columbus, Maj. A. M. Trier post, American Legion, Fond du Lac County Medical society, the Beavers and Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.
     Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Downs residence, 85 Sheboygan street and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Mary's church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.1
