The following obituary appeared in the Bradford Era:
     Death of George H. Dana
Well Known Citizen a Victim of Heart Disease in California
Yesterday the sad news was received in this city that George H. Dana, well known as an oil producer and glycerin manufacturer had died of heart disease in Los Angeles, to which place, early in December, he had gone for the benefit of his health. Mr. Dana had for some time been a sufferer from a number of ills, chief of which was heart disease. And while it was known that he was in a serious condition there was no expectation that death would come so soon.
The deceased was a man of most excellent qualities and of wide acquaintance. Legions of friends throughout the oil fields will join the bereaved family in sincere grief over his death. He leaves a widow, one daughter and three sons, namely: Mrs. Joseph Kief of Duke Center, and Messers A.G., F.W., and E.M. Dana of this city. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, the Odd Fellows, the Macabees and Ancient Order of United Workmen. Mr. Dana was 59 years of age.
The remains will be brought to Bradford.
