Mr. Engelhart was born in the town on Clyman July 22, 1846, and in 1867 moved onto a farm in the town of Milford where he has since resided. He was a well known figure in Watertown where he did his trading and was widely known all over the section where he resided for so many years. Died.
Jacob Engelhart died at this home southwest of this city last Saturday night of stomach trouble, with which he had been ailing for about three weeks. Deceased was born in the town of Clyman July 22, 1846, and in 1867 located on a farm in Milford, where he resided to the time of his death. His wife and seven children survive him. He was a member of St. Henry's Mutual Benefit society and of Branch 120, Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, both of which societies attended his funeral in a body on Tuesday morning at St. henry's Catholic Church. The interment was in St. Henry's cemetery. Deceased was one of the best known residents in this section of Wisconsin. He was especially well known in Watertown, and he was truly a man of whom it might well be said that he always lived up to the divine injunction "do unto others as you would be done by." He was a most devoted husband and father, and one of the very best of citizens. His death is sincerely mourned as that of a truly good man.7
