The following wedding announcement appeared in the Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter on 29 Dec 1945:
Returned Soldier Takes Idaho Bride at Nuptial Rites; George W. Dana, Mrs. Doris Farnsworth wed in St. Mary's Church
St. Mary's church with its Christmas setting of evergreens was the scene of a nuptial mass at 9 a.m. today when George William Dana, son of Mrs. Leo F. Dana, 85 East Johnson street, took as his bride Mrs. Doris Farnsworth, 28 Pershing drive, Boise, Idaho.
The Very Rev. Peter W. Gersbach gave the nuptial benediction. Mrs. Leo P. Braun presented Gounod's "Ave Maria" and Clarence Muckerheide the "Benedictus" during the mass sung by them, with Alex Dana an uncle of the groom, as organist.
Mrs. Ray H. Ricklefs was the bride's only attendant, Mr. Dana's brother, Lieut. Robert L. Dana, serving him as best man. Edward W. Dana and George Bitters, Milwaukee, acted as ushers.
Mrs. Dana's wedding attire was a simple dressmaker suit of orchid and black, with which she wore an orchid and pink flowered hat and a cluster of orchids. Black accessories accented the costume. Mrs. Ricklefs' apple green frock of sheer wool was foil for a corsage of delicate pink carnations.
Members of the immediate family were served breakfast at the Takoda Springs golf club, Mr. and Mrs. Dana later greeting some 100 guests at a reception there until 4 p.m. After a brief wedding trip the couple will reside temporarily at 85 East Johnson street.
Mr. Dana, recently separated from military service, is with the Universal C.I.T. Credit corporation in this city.
