The following article appeared in the Watertown Daily Times on 27 Dec 1967:
Joyce Hubbard is Wed to Robert Hertel
St. Henry's Catholic Church was the setting for the ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 16m which united in marriage Miss Joyce Hubbard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Hubbard, route 1, Helenville, and Robert Hertel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Hertel, 308 O"Connell Street. Officiating the 2 p.m. service was Msgr. Anthony J. Herrmann.
For her wedding, the bride chose a traditional floor - length gown of Chantilly lace. The bodice was designed with a natural waistline and long tapered sleeves. The bouffant skirt of lace ruffles fell to a chapel train at the back. A double crown of lace edged with seed pearls and crystal teardrops secured her veil of English silk illusion. She carried a bouquet of red roses with white pom pon cascade.
Maid of honor was Nancy Rupprecht, sister of the bride. Linda Havlicek and Kathy Rothbarth were bridesmaids. Their identically styled floor - length gowns were of rouje red velvet designed with mini-bodices and satin back panels accented by flowers and leaves of satin. Thier headpieces were matching satin - looped bows with fourtier veils. Each carried a large spider mum with cascade of red carnations. Donna Rupprecht, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
David Hertel, brother of the groom was best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Havlicek and Evette Rothbarth. Robert Rupprecht, brother in law of the bride, and John Hertel, brother of the groom, ushered.
The reception, dinner and dance were held at Wagies Lanes, Rome.
The couple resides at 212 1-2 Rock Street.3
